Answers

  1. What known bugs are there with OKmail?
  2. See this page for a list of known OKmail bugs. We try to keep users informed about the current state of OKmail, rather than in the dark about what's happening in the background. If you encounter any bugs not on the list, please let us know using the OKmail support system and we will try to fix it as soon as possible.

  3. OKmail doesn't look very pretty. Can I make it look nicer?
  4. It's OKmail, not PrettyGraphicsMail. We're much more concerned with adding more features, than making everything pretty. Suffice to say, we think we've come up with a pretty good compromise of looking neat and acceptable while maintaining speed. Our main areas of concern are improving user productivity. This means being able to do more things, quickly and easily. If you've got ideas for things that would improve the useability or appearance of OKmail, please contact us using the OKmail support system.

You may have noticed that you can already alter the display style of OKmail on the Account Preferences screen. This is done using style sheets, which are a useful way of separating content from style.

  5. Why did a message I sent get bounced, referring me to this FAQ entry?
  6. If you send a message to some who has had their account locked by the OKmail postmaster, you will receive a delivery notification error like this:

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster@okmail.net
If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the message returned below.

Recipient address rejected: Account locked for abuse or overuse; see
      http://www.okmail.net/docs/faqparts/Email.htm#Locked

This means that this account has been locked. Normally this simply means that the person you are sending to has gone over their bandwidth quota for this month. You'll be able to send to them once they have purchased enough bandwidth.

The other reason can be that the user breached their Terms of Service (such as by spamming), or they have gone over their bandwidth quota. If you received an unsolicited commercial email ('spam') which contained a reference to a OKmail address, that address would have been terminated because the OKmail Terms of Service do not permit this type of use. If you want more details of why this email was rejected, please contact the Postmaster.
